The States Where Jobs Are Disappearing and Where They’re Moving to Instead

Idaho had a fast-moving job market, with plenty of new jobs being created. Growth can come from construction, health care, technology, agriculture, food production, tourism, and services tied to the state’s growing population.

But job activity does not always mean job growth. Idaho also lost jobs at a higher rate, possibly from businesses cooling after rapid expansion, construction slowing in some areas, or smaller employers facing higher costs. The state was busy, but losses had the lead here.
